Obit (abridged version) - "Arthur Estler, 82, of Rockaway Drive, Boonton Lakes, former tax collector of Boonton Township, passed away at Riverside Hospital on Thursday morning after a long illness.

Born on August 3, 1875, Mr. Estler was the son of the late James and Augusta Cook Estler and was born and grew up in the old Estler homestead in Powerville where his sister, Miss Lena Estler, now lives.

Mr. Estler had served as tax collector of Boonton Township from 1939 until his retirement on January 1, 1958. He also served as clerk of the water department in the township and custodian of school funds for the Board of Education, until his retirement.

Besides his sister, Mr. Estler leaves his wife, Mrs. Olie Parks Estler of Boonton Township; a son, LeRoy K. Estler of Estler Lane, Boonton Township; a daughter, Mrs. William E. (Ruth) Bishop of Kenmore Road, Boonton; and seven grandchildren.

Services were at 2:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Dixon Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, with the Rev. Roger Stimson, pastor of the Rockaway Valley Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Rockaway Valley Methodist Church Cemetery."
