At 2.10 in the afternoon, a policeman on duty on Main St., was called by an unidentified driver of a car who said his passenger, Harold Groves, 68, of Buckland, apparently was ill. The ambulance was summoned, but Groves was dead when fireman reached the hospital. The body was viewed by Dr R Sheldon Clapp, of Amherst, associate medical examiner, who ordered it removed to Johnson funeral home in Shelburne Falls.
