Member, Maryland State Senate. Member, House of Delegates. Presidential elector, 1832, 1836, and 1844. In 1852, Price was selected by the General Assembly, along with Frederick Stone and Samuel Tyler, to revise the Maryland rules of practice. City Counselor, Baltimore City, 1861-62. Chair, Standing Committee on the Judiciary. Member, Standing Committee on Elections; Joint Committee to Report a Bill on an Oath of Allegiance; Joint Committee on Reapportionment; Joint Committee on Conference on the Baltimore Police Bill.
Drafted Maryland's Treason Bill, which was passed in March, 1862. Appointed by President Abraham Lincoln as U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland, 1862-65. Appointed again, 1866-67. President, Union Party, Baltimore City Convention of 1864.
Also authored the novel, "Clement Falconer", 1838.
