Elizabeth Maurene Banks Miller Jones passed away gracefully on August 29, 2012 in Milford, UT surrounded by her children. She was a loving mother, sister, and friend to everyone and had a true zeal for life. She was born August 31, 1923 in Leamington, Utah to James Alma and Gladys DeLong Banks and joined three brothers and one sister and later was a mother to her younger sister.
She attended college in Cedar City, UT in 1941. She married Alma Thomas Miller Oct 18, 1942. Together they had six children. "Chubby died on June 21, 1971. She later married James Jones July 12, 1973 and moved to Ely, NV where she resided with Jim for 21 years.
Maurene was a member of the LDS church and had many callings including being a bishops wife for many years. She was a member of the Lady Trainmen, lady fireman, lady lions, DUP and many more organizations. She drove a school bus, worked in a lunch room, in a sewing factor. She was a checker at Lunds White market and also Dr. Davies Clinic, worked for 5 counties serving senior citizens.
She is survived by her sister Gladys DeLong Banks of Salt Lake City, UT; children Fred L. Miller of Salt Lake City, UT; Joy Hillman of Milford, UT; Kathy (Will) Acklin of Milford, UT; Connie (Grant) Wadsworth of Milford, UT; Debra Wagner of Mesquite, NV; Donald Jones of Winnemucca, NV; and many grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great- great grandchildren. Maurene is preceded in death by her two husbands Chubby Miller and Jim Jones and 5 children Tom Miller, Gladys Miller, Ida Joe Pederson , Judy Jones and Jolena Stufflebeam
Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 4, 2012 at 1:00 pm located the Milford LDS Church 748 W 600 S Milford, UT 84751. Viewing's will be held Monday September 3, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Southern Utah Mortuary in Milford located at 209 S 100 W and again on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to12:30 p.m. at Church. Interment immediately following at the Milford Cemetery, all under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
