He lived there in distinguished respectability/and usefulness until 1820 when he moved to this/neighborhood where he afterwards dwelt in ease/and contentment; Industrious, cheerful, benevolent/and esteemed, he lived in the affection of numerous/friends and acquaintances and so passed his days in/celibacy, having neither wife nor children to mourn/after him. The regard which his amiable qualities,/his solid worth. sterling integrity, pure morals,/and stern principles secured him have endeared him/to the memory of those who knew him./He sleeps here beneath the tomb."
