Mary Dameron Dise, eldest daughter of Charles Dibrell Dameron of Amherst county, compiled a Dameron genealogy in the early 1900's. She wrote, "Mary Jane Dameron, b. 1824, married _____Novell, d. July 1852, leaving two children, boys, who with their father, went west." From the above, it would appear that none of the Norvell family were known to the Damerons in 1900. Mary would have known and interviewed her cousin, Malachi Dameron, but apparently Malachi did not tell her that he had been appointed guardian of William Norvell, son of Thomas S. Norvell, deceased, in 1863.
