Wife of Daniel Shidler. Married on November 5, 1850 in Holmes Co. Ohio. Daniel and Mary (Culler) Shidler lived in Harrison Twp, Clay County, IN from about 1860 until 1881 for Daniel and 1884 for Mary. Daniel died in Kansas where he was buried. Mary (and some of her children) lived and undoubtedly died in clay County, Indiana, but were buried in Owen County.

In the 1850 federal census, taken on September 3, Daniel and his family were living in Berlin Township, Holmes County, Ohio. He was listed as, Daniel Shidler, a blacksmith, a widow, age 31, born in Pennsylvania, and his children listed were; John Shidler, age 7, Henry Shidler, age 5, Alfred Shidler, age 3, and Isaac Shidler, age 10 months, all listed born in Ohio. (Also living with the family was Mary Culler, age 25, born in Pennsylvania, who all most 2 months from the date this census was taken became Daniel's second wife, and November 5.)

In the 1860 federal census, taken on July 7, Daniel and his family were living in Spencer Township, Jennings County, Indiana. He was listed as Daniel Shidler, a blacksmith, age 41, born in Pennsylvania, and his wife, Mary Shidler, age 35, born in Pennsylvania. His children listed were: John Shidler, age 17, Henry Shidler, age 15, Alfred Shidler, age 13, Isaac Shidler, age 11, George Shidler, age 9, Elizabeth Shidler, age 5, William Shidler, age 7, and Clary Shidler, age 3, all listed born in Ohio. (NOTE--John, Henry, Alfred and Isaac, are from Daniel's first marriage.)

He was listed as, Daniel Shideler, a farmer, age 51, born in Pennsylvania, and his wife, Mary Shideler, keeping house, age 46, born in Pennsylvania, their children listed were; George Shideler, a farm laborer, age 19, born in Ohio, William Shideler, farm laborer, age 17, born in Ohio, Elizabeth Shideler, age 15, born in Ohio, Clara Ann Shideler, age 12, born in Ohio, and David O. Shideler, age 7, born in Indiana.

In the 1880 federal census, taken on June 8th, Daniel and his family were still living in Harrison Township, Clay County, Indiana. He was listed as Daniel Shidler, a farmer, age 61, born in Pennsylvania, and his wife, Mary Shidler, keeping house, age 56, born in Pennsylvania, and their children listed were: William Shidler, a farm laborer, age 27, born in Ohio, and David O. Shidler, a farm laborer, age 16, born in Indiana.
