YANCEYVILLE, N.C. - Nellie Hicks Mabe, 96, formerly of Danville, died February 21, 2004 at Danville Regional Medical Center. Born April 11, 1907, in Guilford Co., she was the daughter of the late Luther and Nannie Stevens Mabe. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Danville. She attended Stokes County Schools. She was married to William Mabe, who predeceased her.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Bell, Jane Trent and Lilla Mae Greenwood; three sons, Watson Lee Mabe, Paul Mabe and Ted Mabe; one stepson, Bill Romanger; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Danville Memorial Gardens. Harrelson Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
