Nancy was the second of nine children born to Archibald Hillis and Elizabeth Ironwood. She became the second wife of Gabriel "Gabe" Farrow Keath, Jr. on November 24, 1840 in New Brunswick (Boone County), Indiana. They had nine children. Nancy died shortly after the stillborn birth of their ninth child. The child was buried in its mother's coffin.
