Joseph Conant Hartley, 71, of Macclenny died on August 27, 2012. He was born March 28, 1941 in Macclenny and was a member of the local pipefitters union 234 until 1979. He was also employed by the Baker County Sheriff's Office, the former City of Macclenny police department, the Wayne County, GA Sheriff's Office and later became chief of police in Odom, GA.
Mr. Hartley was a 32nd Degree Mason and belonged to the Macclenny Lodge. He was a master plumber and owned Hartley Plumbing for many years. He was an ordained minister and part-time assistant pastor at Taylor Church. He also served honorably in the US Army.
Mr. Hartley was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary, his father Marcus Hartley and brother Larry Hartley.
