Bloomer - Neil Thomas Kearns, 79, of Bloomer, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 1998, at Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer.
He was born June 24, 1919, in the town of Eau Galle, Wisconsin, to Thomas and Anna (Appel) Kearns.
He married Glorine Elsenpeter June 28, 1951, at the church of Incarnation in Minneapolis.
He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, the V.F.W. and former member of the Bloomer Moose Lodge.
He served in WWII from 1942 to 1945, in the U.S. Army, serving in the European Theater.
He worked for Catalytic Combustion until his retirement in 1978.
He is survived by his wife, Glorine Kearns of Bloomer; one son, Thomas (Debra) Kearns of Maplewood, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Tanya and Kyle Kearns, both of Maplewood.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Edward Kearns; seven sisters, Nellie McDonald, Rose Carter, Margaret Lynch, Ethel Mans, Esther Hofacker, Mabel Mans and Rita Hofmeister.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 A.M. Saturday, August 22, 1998, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Bloomer, with Father Thomas Langer officiating.
Burial will be in St. Henry's Catholic Cemetery in Eau Galle.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 P.M. Friday, August 21, 1998, at the Schriver Funeral Chapel in Bloomer, where there will be a 7 P.M. Christian Wake Service.
