William C.E. Arner, 82, of 369 N. 5th St., Lehighton, died Monday in Gnaden Huetten Hospital, Lehighton. He was the husband of Alberta R. (Ritter) Arner. They were married 57 years in August.

He was a salesman for Lehighton Lincoln Mercury Auto Sales, Franklin Township, before retiring in 1976. Previously, he was a salesman for the Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Palmerton; a fireman for the former Lehigh Valley Railroad and an employee of the Anquin Hosiery Mill, Lehighton.

Born in Franklin Township, he was a son of the late Charles and Ida (Costenbader) Arner.

He was a member of Jacob's United Church of Christ, Weissport.

Survivors: Wife; daughter, Ritchie Ann, wife of John Crowley of Lehighton; sister, Mary MacManiman of Philadelphia; brother George of Franklin Township; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Mayes-Melber Funeral Home, 200 Franklin St., Weissport. Call 10-11 a.m. Thursday
