Shelvy Mays, 86, 2289 West Laurel Rd., died at Marymount Hospital, Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1992.

Born July 31, 1906 in Barbourville, he was the son of the late Joe and Lucinda Logan Mays. A retired candy salesman, he was a World War II veteran.

Mr. Mays is survived by three sons, Kenneth Mays, Martinsburg, W.Va., Jerry Mays, Hedgesville, W.Va., and Edwin Mays, Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Reece Mays, Barbourville and Reavis Mays, San Antonio, Tx.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at the Veterans Memorial Center in Phoenix, Ariz. Laurel Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
