He was born July 7, 1924 in Lewiston, Utah to Parley Hyde Bodily and Emma Rachel Kemp. Married Mary Susann Crown March 21, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died December 16, 1980. Married Helen Martha Brown Syndergaard Nov. 15, 1984. Morton worked for the US Post Office for 31 years as a postal carrier. He was very active in the LDS Church. He was a ward clerk for many years. He also served as a Stake Missionary and genealogical worker.
He is survived by his second wife, Helen, and six children, Susann (David) Castle, Michael (Debbie) Bodily, Robert (Karen) Bodily, Rosemary (Richard) York, Christine (Paul) Smith, Walter Bodily; stepdaughter, Paula (Robert) Rohr. Also surviving are three brothers, three sisters, 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Morton was a kind and loving father and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 20, 1998 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East at 12 noon. Friends may call at the Mortuary on Sunday, April 19, 1998 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday prior to funeral from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Burial will follow at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, UT.
