Virginia M. Armstrong, 76, passed away Friday morning, May 21, 2010, at her residence in Yorktown, following an extended illness. She was born April 4, 1934, in Muncie, the daughter of Harold and Bernice (Snyder) Brown. She attended Muncie schools and graduated from Muncie Central High School.

Mrs. Armstrong was employed at Borg Warner for seventeen years prior to her retirement.

She was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God.

A loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, those surviving are her loving husband, John J. Armstrong, whom she married July 7, 1961; her children, Melanie Carlin, (husband, Bill), Shanna Hatton, (husband, Ronnie), Mary Bowlin, (husband, Mark), and John Armstrong, II, (companion, James A. Favors); ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Sue Fifield; her brothers, Harold, Gene, and Roland Brown; and her great-granddaughter, Kimberly Thompson.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Kevin Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
