DANVILLE, Va. - Elizabeth Griffith Odum Teague, 87, of 64 Shumate Street, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004 at Danville Regional Medical Center.

Born Sept. 8, 1916 in Franklin County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Captain Griffith and the late Sallie Griffith.

Mrs. Teague attended Franklin County High School. She had resided in the Danville area since 1953.

She was employed with Dan River Mills for 42 years. She had been in declining health and was a patient in the hospital several times during the past six years.

She was a member of The Lighthouse Full Gospel Church in Brosville, Va.

She was first married to William Odum, who predeceased her. She later married Henry Dayton Teague, who died October 29, 1991.

She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Sue Pickeral of the residence; grandson, Alvin Ramsey Pickeral Jr. and his wife, Wendy Pickeral of Dry Fork, Va.; four sisters, Bulah Hale of Ferrum, Va., Sue Johnson of Ferrum, Va., Del Johnson of Martinsville, Va. and Mamie Bauldin of Collinsville, Va.

She was predeceased by five brothers, Homer Griffith, Willie Griffith, Charley Griffith, Herman Griffith and J.D. Griffith.

The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10 at Danville Memorial Gardens with Pastor Rick Labate officiating.

The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Swicegood Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence, 64 Shumate Street.
