William S. Daubenspeck enlisted as a private for 3 years on July 18, 1864, and he was mustered into Company C, 194th Pennsylvania Infantry. Private Daubenspeck was transferred to Jones' Independent Company [K], 97th Pennsylvania Infantry, on September 10, 1864. He was mustered out on July 17, 1865. He moved to Los Angeles, California, where he became a successful building contractor. He was a member of Stanton Post, No. 55, Grand Army of the Republic, in Los Angeles. He filed for a Civil War veteran pension at Los Angeles November 26, 1909, and received certificate No. 1,165,543. Evidence of a marriage was not found.
