William Pinkney Stokes served in Co. H, 10th Missouri Infantry (Col. Alexander C. Pickett), 2nd Brigade (Brig. Gen. Mosby M. Parsons), Private, Army of Trans-Mississippi, C.S.A. 1862 till surrender 9 Jun 1865 in Shreveport, Louisana.

Born October 3, 1834 in Meigs county, Tennessee.

Father: Edward S. STOKES, Birth: 11 APR 1811 in Guilford Co.,NC, Death: 22 NOV 1889 in Boone Twp., Maries Co., MO

Mother: Nancy Ann EANS, Birth: 25 JAN 1815 in SC., Death: 8 FEB 1903 in Maries Co., MO

Wife: Ameline (Millie) J. BURD was born ABT 1839 in TN.

Pink moved to Missouri about 1854 and settled in Osage county. He died February 2, 1913 after living at the Confederate Soldiers Home of Missouri in Higginsville, Missouri.

Pink enlisted August 8, 1862 at Thomasville, Missouri by Col. John M.Johnson.
He surrendered June 9, 1865 at Shreveport, Louisiana.
