Eloise Adelta (Lindsey) Allenberg, age 83, long time Tucumcari, NM, resident, passed away in Amarillo, TX, on Sunday, August 26, 2012, following an extended illness.
Eloise was born July 20, 1929, in Spade, TX, to William Barney and Myrtle Mae Lindsey. She attended and graduated from Carrizozo High School at Carrizozo, NM, in 1945. She met and married Ernest Allenberg on November 3, 1947. They moved to Abernathy, TX, living there for 20 years before moving to Tucumcari in 1966. She owned and operated Myrtle's Upholstery and Pet Grooming Shop in the early '70's and retired in 2005.
Surviving Eloise are her children, Dale Allenberg and Kathy of Clovis, NM, Sherry Burns, Cathy Cordova and husband, Joe all of Amarillo, TX, Brent Allenberg and Chrissy of Seattle, WA; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Norman Lindsey of Alamogordo, NM, and Merle Lindsey of Mountainair, NM.
She is preceded in death by her parents; by her sons, Darrell and Lawrence (Butch) Allenberg, and by her husband, Ernest.
Services celebrating her life will be Thursday morning, August 30, 2012, beginning at 10:00 AM in the Dunn Memorial Chapel with her brothers, Norman and Merle officiating. Pallbearers will be Rhonda Cionek, Amy Giordano, Cathy Cordova, Amber Cordova, Jessica Cordova, and Chantel Cordova. Honorary Pallbearers will be Pat Lindsey, Mike Lindsey, Tod Lindsey, Tim Farrow, Bill Ward, and Joe Cordova.
Interment will be in the family plot of the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
