Susannah's father Heinrich David Martz came from Longswamp Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, about 1786 and purchased a parcel of land along the Shamokin Creek not too far from the town of Sunbury. Susannah grew up here and in the month of April and the 11th day 1811, she married John Richtstine. Susannah Martz died in Brimfield Township, Peoria County, Ill. and is buried in the French Grove Cemetery in the year 1874. Her mother was Barbara Miller
