John H. Alkek, 60, of 7-2 E. River, died at 9 p.m. Sunday in a local hospital, Mr. Alkek had been a long-time resident of Victoria and was the owner of Alkek Brothers Grocery Store.
Mr. Alkek is survived by his wife, Mrs. Della Alkek of Victoria; two sons, John H. Jr., and Franklin, both of Victoria; and four grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by the Duckett Funeral Home.

Funeral services for John Alkek, 61, long-time Victoria businessman, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Duckett Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Boyd of Dallas officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Born Aug. 7, 1898, in Weimar, Mr. Alkek was the son of the late Anton and Josephine Alkek. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Della Alkek of Victoria; two sons, John H. Alkek Jr. and Franklin Alkek, both of Victoria; Mrs. Mary Moses, San Benito, Tex. and Mrs. Emelia Abood of Corpus Christi; and four grandchildren.
