Clenan was the daughter of Jefferson Conrad and Elizabeth Alexander. She married Albert E. Adams on 16 January 1887 in New Madrid County, Missouri, and was the mother of four children: Lula, Nell, Elton and Harry.

Mrs. Al Adams

After an illness of several months with a complication of diseases involving the stomach and heart, Mrs. Louise Clenen Adams passed away at her home in Lilbourn, Sunday, August 19, in her 53rd year, all of her family being at her bedside.

Mrs. Adams was the daughter of Jeff Conrad and wife, was born near Boekerton and lived all her life in this county. She married Al Adams and he and their four children, Lula, now Mrs. Rufus Bell, of this city, Elton, of St. Louis, Nellie, now Mrs. Glenn Parmenter, of Sturgis, Mich., and Harry, of Lilbourn, and one sister, Mrs. N. Simer, of this city. In her early life she united with the Baptist church at Boekerton and died triumphant in her faith.

She was a devoted wife and mother and a kindly neighbor, who will be sadly missed by both family and friends.

The funeral was held at the Baptist church in this city, Monday afternoon, Rev. Joel Adams conducting the services. Harrison, Alfred, Doyle and Louis Adams and Oakley and Jack Simer, all relatives, were pallbearers. Burial was had in the City Cemetery. Among those who came for the funeral were Elton Adams and wife, St. Louis; Clay Simer and wife, Mitchell Simer and daughter, Sarah, and Grady Terry, of Kennett; Dr. Conrad, of Caruthersville.
