Mrs. Cartwright was a member of Gassaway Methodist Church and secretary of Eureka, a Sunday school class for young people of that church. She was an officer of the order of Eastern Star, a past president of the Braxton County Classroom Teachers Assn. and taught at Sutton elementary school for several years.
Additional survivors include three brothers, Victor McConkey of Lexington, KY, John of Chicago and Randall of Aiken, SC and four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Kanackel of Dunbar, Mrs. Leon Huston of Detroit, Mrs. Doyle Andrews of Cumberland, MD, Mrs. Frank Belyea of Quincy, IL. She was predeceased by her parents William & Mollie Johnson McConkey.
Services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p. m. in Gassaway Methodist church with Dr. Hugh Cummings and the Rev. Harold Grandstaff officiating. Burial directed by Bartlett mortuary at Gassaway, will follow in Morrison Church Cemetery.
