PASSING OF JOHN ALBRIGHT
Long-Time Resident of David City Died Thursday, Oct. 8.
John Albright, aged 79 years, 10 months and 14 days, a resident and business man of David City for 51 years, passed away at his home in North David City Thursday night, Oct. 8, shortly before 11 o'clock. He had been ill for the past three months.
Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church, David City, at 9 a.m. Monday, conducted by Rev. William Murphy. The pallbearers were Albert Bongers, E. A. Coufal, E. J. Dworak, L. R. Kreizinger, John Lanspa and M. E. Medinger. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery.
Coming from elsewhere to attend the funeral were Charles Albright of Portland, Ore., Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Mack of Petersburg and Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Dupin, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Peterson, Miss Kathryn Jackson and John Rabb of Omaha.
Born at Oebissfield, Hanover, Germany, November 24, 1856, Mr. Albright came to America in 1881, locating in Pennsylvania. He was married to Louise Broggbamer at Allentown, Pa., June 4, 1883, and shortly after their marriage they came to David City, Mr. Albright establishing a jewelry store. He was a hard-working man and built up a good business, now carried on by his son, Paul J. Albright. Mr. Albright retired from business about 25 years ago and turned his attention to building and selling houses. He was a member of the Catholic church and the Modern Woodmen lodge.
Mr. Albright is survived by his wife and the six children born to them, Paul J. Albright of David City, Mrs. Josephine L. Otto of Mt. Vernon, N. Y., Mrs. Henrietta Mack of Petersburg, Charles F. Albright of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Amelia Dupin of Omaha and Dr. James H. Albright of David City. There are two grandchildren.
