Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26 at St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove for Florentine Koetter who died Monday at her home in Sauk Centre. Rev. Ron Dockendorf will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m. followed by prayers from St. Mary's Society, Poor Soul's Society, and Holy Rosary Society at 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Sauk Centre.
Flo Koetter was born on Dec. 4, 1915 in New Munich to John and Gertrude (Klassen) Thielen. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Koetter on June 5, 1946 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Greenwald. The couple farmed near Meire Grove from 1946 until 1997. Since then they resided in Sauk Centre. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove.
Survivors include five children, Tom (Joyce) Koetter of Hudson, Wisconsin, Bill (LuAnn) Koetter of Ashburn, Virginia, Carolyn (Gary) Klaphake of Lafayette, Colorado, Kathy (Dave) Jesh of Long Prairie, Dan Koetter of Sauk Centre; six grandchildren, Ann Platson, Paul Koetter, Jaclyn and Jessica Klaphake, Matt and Michelle Koetter; two sisters, Mary Thielen of Melrose and Alma Gibbney of St. Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence on Aug. 13, 1997; two infant sons, James and Bernard; brothers and sisters, Pete, August, Matt, Nick, Annie Bolfing, Sr. Theresa Thielen, O.S.B. and Vera Skille.
