Arthur W. Haas Sr., age 92, of Abbotsford, passed away Friday, August 24, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.

Burial in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery.

Arthur was born August 27, 1919 in the Town of Mayville in Clark County to William and Edna (Scheelk) Haas. Arthur was united in marriage to Isabelle Mayr on June 11, 1942 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Abbotsford. He then proudly served his country in the Army during World War II in the European African Theater from 1942 to 1945.

Arthur is lovingly survived by his wife of 70 years, Isabelle, his children: daughter-in-law, Joanne Haas of Madison, Joyce (Reggie) Morgison of Virginia, Rita (Richard) Kloehn of Unity, Robert (Marion) Haas of Unity, Leonard (Mary) Haas of Colby, Judy (Dennis) Blazel of Marshall, WI, and Karen (Rick) Block of Medford, WI. Arthur is further survived by 23 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, his brothers and sisters: George (Maxine) Haas, William (Marian) Haas, Elaine Schultz, Ella Huckbody, Doris (Bruce) Wussow, and Irene (Jack) Smazal; sister-in-law, Evelyn Haas, and brother-in-law, Harold Baumgartner.

Arthur is preceded in death by his son, Arthur Haas Jr., grandson, Joshua Block, grand daughter-in-law, Ines Haas, and brothers and sisters: Rose Skwarski, Elmer Haas, Helen Damrow, and Myrtle Baumgartner.
