Elias E. Conner, a resident of this city for over forty years, passed away at his home on South Bloomington street last evening at 11:50 o'clock of the infirmities of age, after an illness of several months duration.

The deceased was born at Vermillionville, Indiana February 12, 1837 and came to this section over forty years ago. He was united in marriage to Sophronia Songer, September 19, 1858 and to this union eight children were born, seven with the mother surviving, as follows: John Conner of Divernon, Ill., Mrs. A. Isbell of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Henry Wonders, Mrs. Thomas Jabez Wonders, Mrs. George Swartz, Mrs. M. Reid and George Conner, all of Streator.

Mr. Conner was employed as night watchman and engineer at the Barr Clay company and was well known in this city. He was a member of the Methodist church and a man of high ideals, having a large circle of friends in this city.
