It has been speculated that Alice died in the house Zane Grey bought at 101 South Street in Middletown, Orange, New York. (The house came into possestion of the Orange County Community College and was demolished around 1972 for a college building. [per The Times Recorder (Zanesville, Ohio) April 8, 1973]) However, the death certificate says she died in Lackawaxen, Pike, Pennsylvania.
The cause of death was listed as "acute indigestion" with the contributing cause being 6 years suffering with valvular heart disease.
