Husband of Margaret Field Blackmon and Shirley Smith Case Blackmon and son of John J. & Myrtle Berry Blackmon. 85y

Mr. Blackmon served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1946 in Deleware & New Jersey. He was employed in the lumber industry for over 40 years, worked at Fancher Furniture Company, Ethan Allen, Jamestown Table Top & Salamanca Lumber. He retired for the last time September 2010. Keith was a well-know musician & was accomplished on the guitar, banjo, keyboard & piano.

He volunteered at 5 nursing homes with his band, which included his twin brother, Edward Blackmon, Ernie & Stella Weller, & Edward Wagner & he also played with Jack Harter's Band. Keith created a square dance for the wheelchair patients in the nursing homes & completed a 317 square dance book with instructiuons for each dance. He completed a genealogy of his family that dates back to 2 passengers on the Mayflower, Thomas Rodgers & Richard Warren. He was named Volunteer of the Year for the Cattaraugus Department of Aging in 2005. He was a member of the Hughes-Skiba American Legion Post 535 & John F. Ahrens VFW Post 5296.

Surviving beside his wife, Shirley Smith Case, whom he married May 19, 2007 in Great Valley, NY are his children, Maurice Patterson of Bradford, PA., Kirk (Joyce) Blackmon & Matthew (Terri) Blackmon both of Washington, D.C., & Debra (Ken) Summers of Columbia, SC., 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 8 stepchildren; 20 stepgrandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; & a brother, John (Bernice) Blackmon of Rochester, NY He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret, in 1995 & his twin brother, Edward, in 2009.

Funeral arrangements were made by O'Rourke & O'Rourke Funeral Home of Salamanca, NY. Funeral services were held at the funeral home with Pastor William McNeil of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Olean, NY officiating.

Full military honors will be conducted by members of the Hughes-Skiba American Legion Post 535 & John F. Ahrens VFW Post 5296.
