BELT John Victor Fellman, 78, of Belt, died from complications of Parkinson's disease Tuesday, Aug. 21, at a local hospital.
There will be no services held per John's request. He will be laid to rest next to his wife Shirley at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Croxford Funeral Home handled arrangements.
John was born on July 17, 1934, to Victor John and Vera Gertrude (Leininger) Fellman. He was raised in Portland, Ore., where his father sold fruit and eventually became a land developer. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years. He retired as a master sergeant. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked at Big R Supply for two years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling, during which he once bowled a 300 game during league play. His real passion was golf, playing mainly in tournaments throughout the state. He even tried hitting a ball or two in his last months.
John is survived by his son, daughter-in-law, sister, 2 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Fellman; grandson Jacob Wayne Fellman; and brothers Michael Fitzgerald and Steven Fellman.
