Frank Riden, aged 73, died at his home Friday, November 29, 1929. Funeral services' were held at the Christian Church at 1:30 pm Monday afternoon, by Mrs. America Hozachuh of Waterloo, and the Methodist pastor Rev. W.W. Grant. He was buried in Lynwood cemetary with Independent Order of the Odd Fellows Lodge (I.O.O.F.) rites.

He leaves behind his wife, formerly Miss Nellie Fassett, son Howard, daughters Elsie (wife of Ed Randolph), Ada (wife of Henry Klunder), fourteen grandchildren, one brother, William of Howard, S.D. and a sister, Mrs. Mary Sutcliffe of Waterloo. Mr Riden was a farmer by occupation, but has lived in town for several years.

His health had been on the decline the past two years and he had two strokes of paralysis this fall, which caused the loss of sight, and since then he failed rapidly. He was a member of the Christian Church and the I.O.O.F. Lodge.

Relatives and friends from far away came to attend the funeral of Frank Riden, Monday. His brother William from Howard, S.D.; sister Mrs. Mary Sutcliffe, Mr. & Mrs. Louis Aldrich, Mr. & Mrs. Grant Fassett, and Mrs. John Manross, Mr. Cyrus Carpenter of Waterloo, Mr. & Mrs. Ellie Fassett, Mr. & Mrs. John G. Laube, Mr. Paul Fassett, Mrs. Virgil Steels of Waverly, Mr. & Mrs. Leslie Tayler and son of Hudson, Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Schrack, Miss Etta Taylor, Mrs. Morris Kenerer of Parkersburg, Mrs. Joe Deeming of Bristow, and Mr. & Mrs. W.J. Sutcliffe of Cedar Heights.
