Charles Easter, 65, Lancaster, a retired school bus driver for the Wabash County School system, died in Mt. Carmel at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
Mr. Easter was a member of the Lancaster Church of Christ, the W. Salem Masonic Lodge, and a mechanic for the Wabash County school system.
He was born in Cleburne, Texas, on Dec. 7, 1914, son of William and Alice (Johnson) Easter. He married Lois Sterwart in Kentucky on June 3, 1939, who survives.
Other survivors of Mr. Easter include, two sons, Dewey, Mt. Carmel, and Ronnie, Champaign; three daughters, Mrs. Gwenda Durett, Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Sandy Moore, Lancaster, and Mrs. Deborah Lashbrook, Allendale; three brothers, Irwin, Plainview, Texas, Curtis, Denver City, Texas, and Weldon, Woodward, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie McDaniels, Tuscon, Ariz., and Mrs, Bernice Fancker, Marshall, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Joyce, and a grandchild.
Funeral services for Mr. Easter will be Thursday at the Lancaster Church of Christ with Bro. Larry Harden presiding. Visitation is Wednesday at the Ingram Funeral Home in W. Salem. There will be special Masonic services at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Lancaster Church of Christ, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
