Death of Spencer Ball
Mr. Spencer Ball, aged 84, a Jefferson county pioneer and one of our most highly respected citizens, died at 4:30 o'clock this morning at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. George Short, South Jefferson street, after an illness of several months. Mr. Ball was severely injured last winter by being thrown from a buggy and never fully recovered from the shock. Mr. Ball was a member of Monroe Lodge No. 2, I.O.O.F, and will be buried tomorrow afternoon.
