Married Mary Hannah Berry. Their known children were William Daniel 1851-1922, Wayne, Charley, George, Hattie 1871-940, Fred and Abbie. Mary B. 1829 NH d. 28 Dec 1890 Warm Springs, MT. Burial unknown.

Philip C. Bassett & family moved to Minnesota, then to California by covered wagon in the 1860's. He later moved to the Yellowstone, Montana area. He committed suicide on 1 May 1884 in Cinnabar, Montana. Cinnabar existed only from 1883 to 1903 and was located about three miles west of Gardiner, Montana.
