Lewis Earl Wirt, son of Joseph and Margaret Wirt, was born April 1, 188 at Marcus, IA and passed away after a short illness at the Sioux Valley hospital, May 7, 1959, at the age of 71 years.

Mr. Wirt came to Parker in 1909.

In 1917 he was married to Mildred Rundell.

To this union three children were born, Dain, Virgil and Raymond.

He farmed southeast of Parker until 1952, when he moved into Parker, but he continued to help on the farm.

Preceding him in death were his wife and son, Dain, who was killed in action in WWII.

Survivors include his sons, Virgil, a major in the air force at Glasgow, MT, and Raymond, who lives on the home place, a brother, Joe of Parker, and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Addy of Marcus, IA. There are also five grandsons.
