EDMOND — Rachel Wanda Dyer was born March 16, 1923 in Mansfield, La., and passed away December 6, 2011 at home in Edmond, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William Ralph Dyer, her parents, Everett and Mamie Snowden, two sisters, Geraldine Arbuckle and Bessie Wilkerson, one brother, James Snowden and grandson Trey Dyer.
Rachel is survived by her older sister, LeMerle Rogers of Bossier City, La.; her daughter Dalail and Joel Brandon of Edmond; three sons, Bill and Sharon Long of Shreveport, La., Ralph and Patti Dyer of Monroe, La., and Johnny and Terri Dyer of Baton Rouge, La., 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Rachel was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She blessed many people with her God given talent of creativity and artistic design. She valued time spent with family and friends.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday December 12, 2011 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Edmond
