CHARLOTTE ~ Mrs. Ruby Scronce Huitt, 80, of Charlotte, formerly of Vale, died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center in Shelby.
Mrs. Huitt was born on August 13, 1926, in Vale, the daughter of the late Carr Butler Scronce and Della Workman Scronce. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Bryant Huitt Jr., her brother, Thames Scronce and his wife, Carelee Scronce of Charlotte. Mrs. Huitt graduated from Queens College. She was a member of Enderly Park Baptist Church, University Hills Baptist Church of Charlotte and Daniels Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lincolnton.
Survivors include two sons, Steve Huitt and his wife, Sherry Huitt of Charlotte and Doug Huitt and his wife, Treasa Huitt of Shelby; one daughter, Suzanne Huitt of Charlotte; one brother, Leonard B. Scronce and his wife, Taltha Scronce of Vale; seven grandchildren, Candace and Meghan Revels, Justin, Jon, Joseph, Jena and Jayda Huitt; and two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Gideon Huitt.
