Martin Fischer, 57, lifelong resident of the county, died Friday night in this city, following a stroke.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. from the Berge funeral home in Valders and at 2:15 from the Rockland church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Fischer was born on a farm in Rockland in 1883 and spent his early life there. Later he came to this city and was employed for a number of years by the Reiss Coal company. Failing health forced his retirement 11 years ago.
Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. August Wagner of Peshtigo, Wis., and Mrs. Gust Seehafer of Collins.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home from Sunday at 2 p.m. until the hour of the services Monday.
