Raymond P. DeMeo, 84, of 147 State Road, a retired carpenter, died on Sunday in a Greenfield rehabilitation center.
He retired in the mid-1960s.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a graduate of Greenfield High School.
He was a chief carpenter's mate in the Navy during World War II, and was a member of Carpenters Union Local 108.
He enjoyed sports.
His wife, the former Gertrude Cramer, died in 1985.
He leaves a son, Raymond P. Jr. of Richmond, Va.; two daughters, Constance Ament of Montague and Bernice Gulino of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; a stepson, Paul Gebo of Novato, Calif.; a sister, Eleanor Parody of Greenfield; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday morning in the Arms Cemetery, Shelburne Falls. There are no calling hours.
