Thomas B. Alexander enlisted 21 April 1861 at Harper's Ferry, Virginia as a Private. Residence was not listed.
On 21 April he mustered into "B" Co., Virginia 2nd Infantry. He died of disease on 18 September 1862 at Staunton, Virginia. (Estimated day of death in hospital of cerbretis).
Thomas Blackburn Alexander joined the Confederacy as did every other able bodied close relative of George Washington. He was the Great-grandnephew of George Washington (His Great Great Grandfather was George Washington's brother). Most of his immediate family is buried in Zion Episcopal church grounds in Charles Town, WV.
