Oleta Mae Petty, 78, died Thursday, October 23, 2003, in Shamrock, Texas.
Graveside services were Saturday, October 25, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. in Shamrock Cemetery, with Mark Thomas, officiating. Burial was in Shamrock Cemetery under the direction of Wright Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Petty was born April 15, 1925, in Wellstown, Oklahoma, toe George and Thelma Shindell Cordell. She married Linuel Petty on March 27,1943, in Shattuck, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death, September 19, 1998. Mrs. Petty grew up in Magic City and graduated from Wheeler High School. She lived most of her life in Shamrock, She retired from Shamrock General Hospital after 24 years of service in the housekeeping and food servicer departments.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Newsted and Pam O'Neal both of Shamrock; four grandchildren, Melody Schlehofer of Morton, Texas, Kelly Walker of Shamrock, Scott Newsted of Morton, Texas, and Kim Stephenson of Shamrock; and eight grandchildren.
