HUSBAND FINDS MRS. HARRY HOWARD SHOT AT HOME

Mrs. Harry Howard, age 52, who shot herself in the abdomen with a shotgun at her home several miles east of Trimble Monday morning, died Monday night shortly after 6 o'clock in Sheltering Arms Hospital, Athens.

Mrs. Howard, still conscious, was found on the floor of the dining room of their home about noon Monday by her husband upon his return from a business trip to Athens, where he had gone to register for work. A physician was called and she was removed to the Athens hospital. It is reported that Mrs. Howard was despondent over illness and some time before her death told the physician and members of her family that she intended to end her life for that reason.

She is survived by a husband, Mr. Harry Howard; four children, Lois, age 18, at home; Annabelle, age 20, of Athens; Virginia, age 22, of Athens; and Mrs. Marjorie Brooks, of Newark; her mother, Mrs. Frank Kempton, and sister, Mrs. Charles Wilkes, live in Columbus.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the West Side Church of Christ, Trimble. Burial will be at the cemetery in Maplewood.
