Von P. Maloney, 84, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 11, 2011 at 8:35 a.m. at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born January 28, 1927 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph Edgar Hampton and Bessie Pizor Hampton.

Mrs. Maloney worked as a Bookkeeper at Friedmans Markets. She retired as Office Manager in 1989 after 23 years of service. She volunteered at Butler Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Maloney enjoyed bowling and was a former member of the Monday Night "Bowlerettes" and the St. Paul's United Church of Christ Bowling League. For many years, she was interested in quilting of bed quilts and various other items of quilting..

Mrs. Maloney is survived by two sons, Larry J. Maloney and his wife Peg of Newburg, IN, Edgar F. Maloney and his wife Denise of New Albany, OH; one daughter, Karen Maloney of Butler, PA; five grandsons; and a number of nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Maloney, who passed away May 25, 1982.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Pastor Gary A. Koontz of Christ's Outreach Church officiating.

Burial will take place in the Greenlawn Burial Estates
