Alonzo was born to Solomon A Allred and Sarah Jane Weeks just before the Civil War. His family lived mostly in Pope County, AR but he married Sarah Agnes Eskridge on 12 Sep 1880 in Van Buren County, AR. By 1900 they seemed to be on the move. They lived in Carroll Co., and Boone Co., AR before moving to the new state of Oklahoma. They lived in Cherokee Co., Muskogee Co., Wagoner Co., and although he died in a Wagoner hospital, his last residence was Pryor, Mayes, Oklahoma. He sometimes went by A.C., Conway, or Lon.

They had 12 children: Anna Bell (Allred) Smith, Martha Matilda (Allred) Martin, James G, Luther L, William Lonzo, Thomas Nathaniel, Nora E (Allred) Cooper, Claude, Lucy, Jesse J, Roy, and Bonnie (Allred) Hood.
