Mrs. Gourley was a lifelong resident of Guilford County. She was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church for 60 years, where she taught Primary Sunday School Class and was a member of United Methodist Women's Guild. She was also a former member of the McLeansville Garden Club.
Margaret Gourley is survived by her daughter, Peggy Payne and husband Melvin of Gibsonville; stepchildren, Sue Gourley Long and husband Eddie of Concord and Kay Gourley Black and husband Roy of Whitsett; son-in-law David Williams; and sister Carlie Crumpler of Stokesdale. She is also survived by grandchildren, Kenneth Payne and wife Debbie of Greensboro, Kelly Payne Medley and husband Dean of McLeansville, Deanne Hill Murphy and husband Keith of Kentucky, Barbara Hill Shelly and husband Tod of Wilson, Tamyra Hill Joval and husband Rick of Colorado Springs, Colo., Amy Hill Kolb and husband John of Salisbury, Md., and Jeffrey Hill and wife Megan of Louisville, Ky.; step grandchildren, Brandon Long and Andrew Long, both of Concord ; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mrs. Gourley was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Snow and husband Harold L. Gourley, daughter Rebecca Snow Hill Williams, granddaughter Patricia Ann Payne, sisters, Annie T. Allred, Mallie T. Hunter, Cammie T. Frick, Alice T. Tripett, and Ruth T. De Santis, and brothers, Henry Thornlow, Lewis Thornlow and Sam Thornlow.
