Death of Mrs. Martha Stephens
Mrs. Martha Jane Stephens, aged 74, and wife of Squire Richard L. Stephens, east Third street, died at seven o’clock last evening of a complication of diseases. Mrs. Stephens had been failing in health for the past two years but only recently her case became serious. She leaves the following children: John, Peter, Daniel, Mrs. Belle Yoder and Crissie Hash. She also leaves two brothers, A. J. and George Lampkins. Funeral will be held at the house at two o’clock tomorrow in charge of Rev. T. J. Clark and interment will take place at Rose Hill cemetery. Pall bearers: John S. Stephens, William R. Stephens, Daniel Stephens, A. J. Lampkins, George Lampkins and Frank Lampkins.
