Mr. F.W. Smith was born the fourth
of January eighteen hundred and
forty-three in Greenfield township,
Huron county, Ohio and was united in
marriage to Mary M. Joiner the
twenty-sixth of March, eighteen
hundred and sixty-three by Rev.
Mr. Whitman. To them were born
three children--Mrs. G. H. Trimner
of Peru; Dwight K. Smith (deceased),
and Mrs. Ed Silliman, of North
Fairfield.
Mrs. Mary M. Smith died the tenth
of October, eighteen hundred and
seventy-one.
Mr. Smith was again married to
Ann Eliza Amsden, who preceded him
by six years. To this union were
born two daughters---Mrs. Grant
Robinson of Greenfield township,
and Loretta Smith, deceased.
Mr. F. W. Smith departed this
life at the hospital in Toledo
the thirteenth day of September,
nineteen hundred and seven.
The funeral was largely attended
by sympathizing neighbors and
friends at the home of Mrs. Grant
Robinson, Sunday afternoon, conducted
by Rev. Mr. Davis after which the
remains were laid to rest in the
beautiful cemetery at Steuben.
