Alvina M. Striedel, 86, of Victoria, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002.
She was born July 8, 1916, in San Antonio, to the late Isidor Fred and Anna Carol Hathaway Karcher. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Victory Cathedral.
Survivors: husband, Mike N. Striedel; daughter, Aileen M. Allman of Warsaw, Ind.; son, Julius Zatopek Jr. of Victoria; sisters, Agnes Terry, Helen Edwards,
Martha Hamel and Edna Burge, all of Victoria, Marie Raven of San Antonio and Rose Davis of Beeville; brothers, Lee Roy Karcher of Livingston and Franklin Karcher of Victoria; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: parents; sister, Alice Masingale; and brother, Karl Karcher.
A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. tonight at Colonial Funeral Home chapel.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral, the Rev. Dominic Antwi-Bosiako.
