Prince. He was born the son of Alexander and Nene Gourielli-Tchkonia and brother to Alexandre. His title stems from an unconfirmed matrilinear claim to Georgia nobility as he appropriated the genuine title of his grandmother. He served as an officer in the Russian Army during World War One. He later fled to France in 1921 and by 1937 emigrated to the United States where he married his wife in 1938. While married to the cosmetic mogul, he was inspired to launch his own line of cosmetics for men.
