Black - John Black died at his home in Cambridge Sunday morning April 11th, aged 76 years.

Mr. Black was one of the early settlers of this community, coming here about thirty five years ago from Danville, Illinois. He was a veteran of the civil war having enlisted in the service of his country at the beginning of the war and serving continuously until the end.

He leaves a wife and two step children, Mr. Lee Sicks and Mrs. William Ross of this place.

Mr. Black was one of the familiar characters of the community and will be mourned by a large number of friends.

The out of town relatives and friends in attendance at the funeral were Mrs. Reva Grant of Udall, Mr. Wilbur Davis of Oxford, and Mr. S.M. Fall of Winfield.
